SP SOCCER ACADEMY

ABOUT SP

Sporting Padula Soccer Academy, also known as SP Soccer Academy, was established in 2011 and is based in Westerville, in the Columbus, Ohio area. The academy was founded and is led by Gino Padula, a former professional player who was part of the Columbus Crew and helped the team win the first MLS Cup in 2008 for the state of Ohio, as well as other major achievements, including the Supporters’ Shield in 2010.

Gino was one of the pioneers of indoor training in Columbus; believing that players should remain active during the winter, he developed the first innovative indoor programs that allow players to improve their technique and performance year-round. The academy’s philosophy is summarized by “BECOME BETTER”, focusing on the continuous development of young players through programs designed for all ages and skill levels.

Thanks to his experience as an international player having played in Argentina and several countries in Europe—Gino possesses extensive knowledge of soccer in all its aspects. He has developed a training program that goes beyond physical and athletic development, emphasizing the holistic growth of the athlete. Gino understands the importance of developing players not only on the field, but also in their discipline, mindset, and passion for the game.

For these reasons, SP Soccer Academy has become a leading reference in Columbus, having trained hundreds of players who have experienced the culture and values of the beautiful game of soccer.
