  • Tryouts ensure the highest level of integrity and competition for all players and levels
  • New to our Club COMPETITIVE players must tryout
  • Do not come out to tryout without prior FREE pre-registartion
  • CURRENT / RETURNING players are invited based on past performance
  • Our commitment is to place players based on overall individual and team development needs

To be considered for a competitive team for our 2026/2027 season, please complete the Tryouts Registration form below, and a Coach from your relevant age group will contact you.

Girls Evaluations

What are Tryouts?

Tryouts are for COMPETITIVE PLAYERS (boys and girls) born before July 31st 2019.

Tryouts are for our coaches to determine if your athlete is a good fit for one of our COMPETITIVE TEAMS.

  • Player MUST pre-register BEFORE COMING OUT, even if a "coach invited you"
  • NO EXCEPTIONS
  • Hollywood FC tryouts are FREE

  • Bring cleats, shin-guards, water, ball, wear a white top

Does my child need to try out?

Tryouts are required for any new players joining an ELITE, PREMIER or SELECT team!

If you do not make an ELITE team, you will be evaluated for a PREMIER or SELECT team, and if, in the coach's opinion, your athlete needs to develop more skills before joining a competitive team, you will be invited to play on a GHSL GRAY/BLACK recreational team.


  • Some kids are too young for Tryouts: PK Soccer is for 2 and 3-year-olds – NO TRYOUTS

  • Recreational Soccer welcomes players of all skill levels 4, 5 and 6-year-olds NO TRYOUTS, Register for GRAY Team (with weekend games) or Academy Training Only Program (no games)
  • When everyone plays, we all WIN!

  • If at any time during the season you feel like challenging yourself please contact one of our Directors for a late tryout (space permitting).

When are Tryouts for 2026/27 Seasonal Year?

Pursuant to FYSA Rule and Region A vote tryouts for the 2026/27 season can be held no earlier than Monday, May 4, 2026.


Hollywood FC will start tryouts in accordance to that rule.

We'll hold SUPPLEMENTAL TRYOUTS until all teams are full. Do not delay your tryout or registration so that your child does not miss their spot on the team.


PRE-REGISTRATION IS MANDATORY

  • Tryouts ensure the highest level of integrity and competition for all players and levels
  • Our commitment is to place players based on overall individual and team development needs
  • To be considered for a team for our 2026/2027 season which runs from August 2026 thru May 2027, you must pre-register for tryouts in advance
  • PRE-REGISTER HERE  - You will receive an automated email.
  • We'll look at your registration information and assign you to the proper tryout, come out as per schedule below, unless you receive an email/call advising you of a different day/time.
  • It may take us up to 3-5 days to contact you. There is no need to rush or worry. We promise to evaluate your child in a timely fashion!
  • Once invited, come to the CLUBHOUSE to check in at least 10 minutes before your tryout so we can take your player's current photo.
  • Have your athlete wear a white top.

  • If you do not hear from anyone or receive any emails or text within 7 days please contact Coach Kevyn (for boys), Coach Gaby (for girls) or Coach Tom (if all fails).


BOYS

Unlike other clubs, our goal is to develop and retain our players. We don't go crazy at tryouts looking to get players to switch clubs every year.

GIRLS

We strongly feel that every girls needs to be evaluated before choosing a team as the soccer landscape changes annually. (see below)

There are 10 boys for every 1 girl in youth soccer and proper team placement is so different for female athletes. Let our coaches evaluate your daughter at no charge so that we can get her on a proper level team.
